Due to the large popularity and responses from the first NBA 2k14 Cover Vote article, I felt the need to serve our loyal NBA 2K14 followers the second installment of one of the most popular cover votes here on Sports Unbiased. The following list was compiled from all the comments and suggestions received from you, the fans. Vote for your favorite player and be sure to share this article with all your friends.
Rajon Rondo:
The floor general and arguably the best all-around player for the Boston Celtics. Rondo has quickly become one of the most popular point guard in the league while becoming the only player during the 2013 NBA regular season to average at least 10 points and 10 assists per contest. Rondo suffered a season ending ACL injury yet the Boston Celtics still managed to make the post season. Without Rondo the Celtics struggled to find consistent guard play and the team could not make up for the assists and dribble penetration that Rondo provided. Rajon Rondo is looking forward to his comeback in 2013-2014 NBA season.
Kyrie Irving:
He’s the franchise player for the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers and one of the premiere point guards in the league. With only 2 complete NBA seasons under his belt, Kyrie was named 2011 NBA Rookie of the Year, 2013 NBA All-star East reserve, and 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend 3-point champion. During the 2012-2013 NBA regular season Irving averaged 22.5 points per game and 5.9 assists per game. Irving has all the talent and potential to be the next best point guard in the NBA but I doubt if he will see any success in Cleveland anytime soon, nonetheless, the Cavs should be a better team in 2014.
Roy Hibbert:
Hibbert has been a problem man-child for every opposing team throughout the regular season and during playoffs this year. If there is one person the scouting report failed to account for, it would be Roy Hilbert’s defensive and rebounding capabilities. Hibbert is the best true center playing in the NBA playoffs this year. During the 2013 Eastern Conference Playoffs versus both the Knicks and the Heat he dominated inside the paint, the opposition failed to contain him. Hibbert fills a lot of space near the basket making it near impossible for the opposing player to penetrate for an easy basket. The Pacers have finally found a center piece in Roy Hibbert, he made his first NBA All-Star appearance in 2013 while averaging 11.9 and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Damian Lillard:
As I mentioned in the Sports Unbiased NBA Awards, Damian Lillard was by far the best rookie in the league when compared to the rest of the 2012 NBA draft class. From a franchise perspective, as a rookie Damian Lillard already owns the franchise record for the Portland Trail Blazers with more than 182 3-pointers topping the previous record of 181 held by Damon Stoudamire and he is also on the list of the top twelve scorers in the NBA, leading all rookies in points per game. Lillard established himself as a franchise player early and he was the winner of the 2013 NBA All-star Skills Challenge. The string of bad luck may have finally been lifted from the Trail Blazers organization, if Lillard can stay healthy he will make his first All-star team next season
