spurs nba finalsThe Miami Heat escaped elimination in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals with a hard fought overtime victory at home. Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard both had opportunities to ice the game but each player missed game deciding free-throws in the 4th quarter and in overtime.

LeBron James led all scorers for the Heat, Chris Bosh added key rebounds and block shots, and Ray Allen helped save the season for the Miami Heat with a game tying three-point shot near the end of regulation.

Both teams will fight for the opportunity to raise another NBA Championship banner. Which team will it be? The Sports Unbiased writers and contributors have weighed in with their predictions on which team will win Game 7. Here’s what they had to say.

Which team will win game 7 of the NBA Finals?

2013 NBA Finals: Spurs Versus Heat Game 7 Predictions

Prediction: Spurs. Final Score Spurs 105 - Heat 101

This is a very difficult game to decide because both teams have proven they can overcome adversity and play at the highest level possible. I predicted the Spurs would win the series in seven games and I am standing by my initial pick because I firmly believe the Spurs have better coaching and a better overall team. The Heat don’t appear to be prepared for battle against the Spurs – Tim Duncan continues to get the best of the Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade is obviously not capable of playing at his highest level due to knee issues. The only way the Heat can win Game 7 is if the entire rotation contributes offensively and they manage to stop the Spurs from killing them inside the paint. I think the Heat have been exposed for their lack of size and depth while coach Popovich is clearly the better coach, the Spurs will rely heavily on Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. If Duncan plays similar to his Game 6 performance the Spurs will win, however if the Heat manage to contain Duncan and Parker the Spurs are done!

Prediction: Spurs. Final Score Spurs 98 – Heat 92.
After Game 6 I have come to the conclusion that this game is totally up for grabs. I do however believe that San Antonio will come out and play harder and smarter than before. I like LeBron James doing whatever it took to get the win. I didn’t like Dwayne Wade sitting in the second half of Game 6 of the NBA Finals! Wade’s knee is really questionable at this point. I also didn’t like some of the Miami fans bolting on the Heat early. They should not be let back in! I see Spurs Coach Greg Popovich making a few adjustments for the game but nothing dramatic. In his case it’s about how you start and finish. I have the Spurs getting it right this time and winning Game 7.

Prediction: Heat. Final Score Heat 96 – Spurs 91.

All the pressure is now on LeBron James to deliver here in Game 7. He was sensational in Game 6 to help the Heat stay alive with a hard fought win. He will need to come up big again for the Heat to repeat as champions. The biggest x-factor in this game is Manu Ginobili. If he can erase a horrific Game 6 performance with a more Manu-type performance we have seen in the past, the Spurs just might upset the Heat for their fifth championship. However, the Heat are at home where they are extremely comfortable and LeBron is back in form, so I am going with Miami to win their second straight championship. I expect Wade and Bosh to be more productive and feed off the home crowd to help LeBron and the Heat secure another championship ring.

Prediction: Spurs. Final Score Spurs 103 – Heat 91.

In Game 6, the Spurs gave the championship away through bad free throw shooting and questionable decisions by Popovich when the game could have been put out of reach.  Neither team has lost back-to-back games all series, and I believe this will remain the case.  I fully expect Tony Parker and Tim Duncan to have great games and Danny Green will get his hot-shooting touch back and end up being the Finals MVP.  Tim Duncan will further cement his claim as the best power forward in NBA history and the questions surrounding the Heat’s future and LeBron’s legacy will make for an interesting discussion in the coming off-season.

Prediction: Spurs. Final Score Spurs 95 – Heat 93 .

It’s going to be extremely difficult for the Spurs to recover from their Game 6 collapse. However, they may be the one team tough enough to shrug it off and realize they have one more shot. The Heat did a great job of neutralizing Danny Green, but it also allowed Tony Parker to get 23 shots; unfortunately he only hit six. I expect both he and Green to be better in Game 7 but the Spurs need Ginobili to show up. Aside from Game 5, he’s been a liability on the floor and turned the ball over a whopping eight times in Game 6. It’s going to be competitive the entire way but I think the Spurs veterans realize this may be their last chance at a title and take the game late in the 4th.

Prediction: Miami. Final Score Miami 91 - Spurs 87.

How do you recover from Game 6 if you’re the Spurs? They seemingly had one hand on the trophy only to let it slip. The Spurs will regroup and will give it their all but in a Game 7 it’s tough to go against the home team. I don’t think the game will be pretty but it should be close. I’m looking for an unsung hero in this one. Perhaps Udonis Haslem making a clutch baseline jumper to seal the deal for Miami.

Final Results: Spurs Win Game 7
