Jared Cortes LeBron James:  The clear-cut early favorite for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award has to be LeBron James. With Kevin Durant set to miss around a month, LeBron gets to go to work with a Cleveland team that’s widely predicted to win the East. When you’re the best player in the league on what could very well be the best team in the league, it’s hard to not place you as the MVP front-runner. Players like Anthony Davis and Derrick Rose could potentially put in serious MVP bids this year, but LeBron and the Cavaliers prospects remain too high to pass on. James will be taking home his 5th MVP award by the end of the year.

Jr. Williams - Derrick Rose:  LeBron James admitted that the Bulls are a better team than the Cavs right now, perhaps he should also admit that Derrick Rose will be the 2015 NBA MVP. Daydreaming aside, I think Rose will have a monster season following his return from injury. He has shown signs of the same explosive player we knew over the years, but didn’t exactly shine as a member of the FIBA USA Mens Basketball team.  Despite his struggles during FIBA, it should be noted that Rose was sidelined virtually the entire 2013-2014 NBA season, and was basically working out the kinks during international competition (at least in my opinion).

Rose has impeccable work ethic and is dedicated to returning among the ranks of top point guards in the league. The Bulls are already one of the top-5 defensive teams in the league, and under the leadership of Rose, I predict the team will be ranked among the top-2 teams in the Eastern Conference. According to head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Bulls have work to do, but Rose isn’t concerned, as he knows how hard his team will work at their goal of reaching the NBA finals. With that attitude alone, I pick Rose for the MVP.

The Bulls are obviously a better team with Rose on the court, however, their fate rest on his ability to play smart and maintain his health throughout the length of the regular season and beyond.
